📢£479 | ✈️ London ➡️ Castries, St Lucia
Sun 17 May 2026 - Tue 26 May 2026 book here/customise
Booking note: British Airways direct to St Lucia for under £500! Well in advance and over the May bank holiday so you get one day of annual leave back… I’m tempted myself Ajalas. You can customise it to get the dates and timeframe you want but do so working backwards as May is shoulder season (June is typically when rainfall starts increasing).
— BTW British Airways are having a late summer sale so there’s plenty of DIRECT, non-last minute routes at a discount, I’m talking Brazil from £600 rtn, India in the £400s, Caribbean routes in the £400-£500s, Ghana from £500 and more. Have a browse here. —
📢£405 | ✈️ London ➡️ Osaka/Kyoto, Japan
Sun 9 Nov 2025 - Sat 15 Nov 2025 book here/customise
Booking note: The Kansai Region that hosts Kyoto, Nara, Osaka and more has SO much to offer and these flights are perfectly timed for seeing the beautiful fall foliage in the region 🍂. I had an amazing time here in (somehow) 5 days. Check out my jam-packed itinerary that can definitely be paced out over a week or more (customise it to go for two weeks, as long as you return on a Saturday the price should maintain). In terms of the journey, Hainan airlines is known as the best Chinese carrier and has a 5* airline certification (!) so this price for good service and free baggage is great. The only catch? Two long overnight layovers in China -This should be fine in terms of your visa but might not give you much chance of exploring the city beyond it’s night culture and food. Do try authentic Hainan chicken and rice if you go (which you may have seen on a Singaporean or Malay street food menus!)
📢£515 | ✈️ London ➡️ Mahe, Seychelles
Thurs 13 Nov 2025 - Wed 19 Nov 2025 book here/customise
Booking note: The islands of Africa are gorgeous so I don’t know what more I can say. This flight is with Ethiopian airline who i’ve had mixed experiences flying with before due to a ridiculous delay on one journey. In any case, the hospitality once on the plane is there and Addis Ababa is a good airport to layover in. All things going well these flights have decent layover timings and it’s a simple 4 hour flight to Seychelles from Ethiopia, something I love about transiting via East Africa.
📢£29 | ✈️ London➡️ Bodrum, Türkiye
Sat 8 Nov 2025 - Sat 15 Nov 2025 book here/customise
Booking note: I’ve gotten good feedback whenever I’ve added a good measure ‘it’s just cheap’ option, and I do love finding a simple bargain. 4+ hour flights, weekend to weekend, 20 degree Türkiye while the UK is typically 10 degrees and dark. Bodrum will be quieter during this time, so ample opportunity to snag lush accommodation and enjoy it’s wealth of excursions such as ancient ruins and water activities.
Disclaimer: Price drops last anywhere between minutes and days, but never forever. Although I’ve personally verified these flight prices they may not be the same by the time you’ve clicked through. If you've missed out on a deal don’t worry, there will be more.
*Sunday, Monday, *Tuesday, Wednesday….🎶 (Insider Tip)
You've probably heard about landing cheaper flights by booking on a Tuesday? This idea dates back to when airlines hand-cranked their seat availability assessments and dropped prices every Monday night to fill empty planes, but technology has moved the industry beyond that.
Here’s the real trick, booking to fly on certain days of the week for better prices. This works even when booking direct with airlines; so long as there's competition on your route (multiple flights going from A to B) and no big sporting or cultural events that would fill seats disproportionately, airlines will slash prices on undersold days to fill their planes.
The sweet spot days tend to be Tuesday or Wednesday specifically. Both KAYAK and Skyscanner's historic data confirms that these days often offered lower fares, while flights on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays cost more due to weekend travel demand.
Nonetheless, because I always look to balance cost with convenience you’ll notice that I mostly showcase flight deals which include weekends knowing this works better for us with annual leave limitations. To me, it's often worth spending £20-50 more to fly on days that optimise your time off, rather than focusing solely on the cheapest options.
I have an added secret ingredient though: Sunday departures. While still pricier than Tuesday and Wednesday, Sunday flights are often cheaper than Saturday because of the psychology around maximising weekends. Of course you’d rather depart on the Friday night or Saturday to make the most of the time you aren’t working. This, however, can leave Sunday flights with more space than airlines would like. When I'm checking through the data for cheap flights, Sundays are regularly part of the sizable price drop equation.
It may feel like a waste to not go the day before, but If you frame it as a day to relax before you leave; tidy your space so it’s ready for when you return; or run last min errands without having to worry about being contacted because you are meant to be at work… It can be a great compromise that saves money and your headspace in the long run!
